Easter Family Fun at Buffalo Trace – March 27

The award-winning Buffalo Trace Distillery will hold its Annual Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, March 27. Festivities for the kids start at 1 p.m., with the great hunt getting underway in the Gardens of Buffalo Trace at 1:15 p.m. After the hunt, families can take a distillery tour (bourbon tastings for the adults, root beer for the kiddos, bourbon balls for everyone.) Bourbons Bistro Goes Old School – March 29

Mike Veach, bourbon historian and special collections assistant at The Filson, will team up with the boys at Bourbons Bistro for a special dinner that features bourbons with a little dust on the bottle.

Veach will discuss the history and relevancy of the word “Old” in brands like Old Forester, Old Fitzgerald, Old Grand Dad, Very Old Barton and more. Tastings of these brands will accompany a five-course masterpiece by Chef Michael. Call for reservations (502) 894-8838.

Woodford’s Bourbon Academy – April 3

Calling all bourbon enthusiasts! Spend a warm spring day on the grounds of one of Kentucky’s most beautiful distilleries. If you want a more in-depth look at the fine art of producing and appreciating Kentucky’s native spirit, then this class is for you. You’ll spend an afternoon at the distillery with Master Distiller Chris Morris and a few of your closest bourbonophiles, learning, interacting and of course, tasting some fine Woodford Reserve bourbon. $150 reserves your spot, and includes a bourbon-inspired lunch and behind-the-scenes tour.
