As Maxwell Smart would say, missed it by that much… Elmer T. Lee’s birthday was August 5. His 90th. Elmer T. Lee is Master Distiller Emeritus of the Buffalo Trace Distillery and the man who has a bourbon named for him. Happy Birthday Mr. Lee.

The Maker’s Mark Distillery will be shut down from August 10 through September 9. Shut down means Maker’s Mark will still be offering tours, but the distillery will be going through cleaning and no distillation will occur.
