Beam Rocks, a concert series backed by Jim Beam Bourbon, will be in Boston May 6 at the Paradise Rock Club with Galactic headlining.

Galactic is a New Orleans group that blends hip hop and funk.

Galactic – a five-man group, together for more than a decade – gained New Orleans notoriety in its early years through impressive live performances. The group’s most recent album, From the Corner to the Block, features a modern News Orleans sound, with horn and percussion melodies, coupled with the hip-hop vocals of artists like platinum rapper Juvenile.

Beam Rocks is a VIP concert series that will move to cities all over the eastern U.S. Tickets are limited and available for the Boston leg through  WFNX-FM 101.7.

You must be 21 to get tickets and attend the concerts.

Jim Beam is getting the “backstage experience” Pat Muskivitch, VP of East Region Marketing said.

“The Beam Rocks experience gives fans the best of both worlds, and it allows them to just hang and be one of the guys.”

Other shows on the Beam Rocks tour will take place in Baltimore, Md. and Tampa, Fla. Details on upcoming shows will be available soon on JimBeam.com.

In addition to Beam Rocks Boston, Jim Beam is hosting “Jim Beam Rockstar Nights” at local hotspots in Boston, Baltimore and Tampa. Rockstar Nights are karaoke-style events, hosted by Jim Beam, where patrons participate in interactive games and become the rock stars of their own live gigs. During each Rockstar Night, participants can pick up tickets to the concerts.

Jim Beam Rockstar Nights will be taking place in the Boston area on Wednesday, April 29, at The Whiskey; Thursday, April 30, at Jose MacIntyre’s and Goodbar; and Friday, May 1, at The Place.
