Living in the heart of Bourbon country, I sometimes forget that what’s readily available here is a rarity – a real treat – at some of the big cities. Sarah DiGregorio who writes a blog for the well known New York City Village Voice was raving about Jeremiah Weed.
…Cornelius was also pouring Jeremiah Weed last night, a bourbon liqueur that is only rarely available in New York. Unlike the fighter pilots, I actually think it tastes good, and should be drunk neat on a rainy night.
Jeremiah Weed has a cult following among the Air Force and outside of Kentucky can be hard to find unless there is an Air Force base nearby. There are many “true stories” regarding Jeremiah Weed’s part in aviation history. Here’s one involving a Porsche Cayanne.
Too many it seems like drinking kerosene, and it leaves a very strong after-taste. Be that as it may, few refuse because the downing of a Weed is a ritual deeply imbedded in the fighter pilot culture.
