Prilosec Sponsors Jeff Burton On the NASCAR Circuit

What an insult! Prilosec, the heartburn remedy, is sponsoring a “BBQ Shootout Series” at six NASCAR Sprint Cup events. Yeah, good cause and all that, but come on, Budweiser couldn’t fork up some cash for this deal? It had to be a heartburn medication?

Prilosec will bring award-winning BBQ Pitmasters from around the country to six NASCAR locations to compete for prize money.

Fans will be able to partake for ten bucks a plate, meet Jeff Burton and other drivers and win tickets to upcoming NASCAR races.

Prilosec will also be at some area Walmart stores before each shootout with demonstrations, food samples, driver autographs and heartburn screenings.

This is the crowning suggestion.

Prilosec OTC suggests that frequent heartburn sufferers who want to enjoy the BBQ start taking the medication two weeks before the event they are attending.

Two weeks? These Pitmaster’s should be insulted. But I guess money talks.

Prilosec OTC’s BBQ Shootouts will launch on Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway, Ft. Worth, Texas. Other locales are Richmond (Va.) International Raceway (May 2), Lowe’s Motor Speedway, Concord, N.C. (May 24), Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 26), Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway (Aug. 22) and Atlanta Motor Speedway (Sept. 6).
