American Honey Bourbon? Actually, It Works!

americanhoneyWhat a great reward for doing my Saturday errands. I piled the dogs into the wagon and set out to battle the Saturday traffic to grab a few things. Lo and behold, my reward:  Kroger Liquor had free samples of Wild Turkey!
Admittedly, I was after rum, but Fran did a great job of making sure I tried the Wild Turkey American Honey. She was kind to me, even after I hassled her about how un-American it was to add honey to Kentucky Bourbon. This Bourbon has been around for a few years, but I never had sampled it.
Its’ good! Straight up is very tasty.

Wild Turkey American Honey is made from pure honey and Wild Turkey Bourbon and sells in our area for about $20. Unlike some other concoctions – chocolate Tawny Port wine for example, the honey taste was quite pronounced. It’s not a drink for everyday, but for a change, ask for it the next time you are out. Or if you like hot tea and like to add honey as a sweetener, try adding a little Wild Turkey American Honey Bourbon.
Fran also served me what she called a Bee Sting. Made by mixing Wild Turkey 101 and Wild Turkey American Honey. I don’t like to mix anything with my Bourbon except ice, so this drink wasn’t my style. Not bad, just not for me.

BBQ Sauce

Fran shared that her husband used Wild Turkey American Honey when making his BBQ sauce. The check out girl chimed in saying she did too.  I can see how this would be a marvelous addition toward making a great BBQ sauce.

  2. @Abe: there is no honey in the Bourbon Bee Sting. It’s American Honey’s own recipe. The “other” bee sting is just a shot of gold tequila.

    Thanks for reading.
